Clothing Essentials for College

September 7, 2011 – If you are heading off to college for the first time, chances are you may need to buy a few things before to make sure your wardrobe is complete.  Unless your mom and dad bought you all sorts of clothes during high school, there will be some things you need to get before college.  There are a few different clothing items that everyone will need at school.

One thing that gets a TON of use in college is a hooded sweatshirt.  A hooded sweatshirt is so clutch because it is so easy to just throw one on and head off to class.  You will see plenty of guys and gals wearing hoodies on campus.  For people going to school in cooler climates, a few hooded sweatshirts are an absolute must.

A good-looking raincoat is another thing that you will want to have when the weather turns sour.  There are a couple ways you can go with a raincoat.  The traditional way is to just get a plain raincoat that isn’t very attractive and is just used to keep you dry.  Another way you could go is to get a vintage raincoat.  These not only keep the rain off of you, but are also a fashion statement.  Regardless of which way you go, a raincoat is absolutely necessary in rainy climates.

Another clothing item that you will be wearing all the time is blue jeans.  I highly doubt this is a surprise to anyone.  Make sure you grab a few pairs of your favorite jeans before you leave for school.  And please, don’t just wear the same pair for weeks on end.  Seriously, they DO smell after that long.

These are just a few of the most important clothing items for kids in school.  Depending on where you are going to college, you might need some other things like a winter coat and boots.  However, make sure you do not forget the above items listed.  College would not be right without any of them.
